Finding the perfect first home

What does it mean to have the perfect first home?  You can make anything great, but perfect?  Is it possible?  In my experience there is always a trade-off, especially if budget is an issue.  People usually focus on the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and the quality of the kitchen.  And of course location.  That’s already a pretty important list.  Then comes hardwood floors, windows and light, and yard or lack thereof.  The list is getting longer.  What matters most to you?
