One way realtors try to keep up with the inventory is to go to special open houses held just for them. These open houses are held during the week and are intended for agents. During the sellers market, these were often not included in a seller’s marketing plan. Today, there are many of them and they are usually fairly well attended.
In North Arlington these Brokers Opens happen on Tuesday. Lunch is usually offered to entice us to visit and preview the house. (The spreads get more lavish in a buyers market, and sometimes agents pick their route based on the menus.) It’s also a very good way to keep your realtor ears to the ground and learn about other things coming up or what’s happening with a specific house.
Today I saw houses priced in the range from $550,000 to $1,550,000. None fit the bill for my clients, but if you were to ask me for a very nice Victorian in Maywood or a fixer-upper in Lyon Park, I could direct you to them. In fact, if you wanted to grab a nice lunch and look at some houses, you could come along next Tuesday. Yummmmm…..
