If you’re considering a move to Northern Virginia from Maryland, there are a few things you’ve got to think about ahead of time:
- Transportation infrastructure. Streets here in NoVa are crowded and impossible to navigate. Just as those Maryland roads are a total conundrum to Northern Virginians, though perhaps less crowded.
Passions run very strong on the subject. I’ve lived both places, and agree with this person:
- Business and jobs. You heard that Hilton is moving into town, right? Well, sometimes history repeats itself, as with the possibility that Marriott would move over here from Maryland in 1999.
- Sports. Admittedly, you probably understand this better than I. I do know, however, that once again passions run strong.
I lived in Montgomery County for a few years, and definitely have an opinion about this ongoing, never-ending debate that we all seem to enjoy so much.
You know where I live now, right?

Virginia roads would be fine if it were only Virginians using them.
Next time you are in Virginia sitting in traffic, at a mall or in your work parking lot please take a look at the plates on cars around you. Then do the same during your next trip around Maryland.
How nice it must be to criticize the traffic all around Virginia while you all shop, work and visit here.
Hmmm, I guess Richmond should be planning better for all you DC and Marylanders.
