My dad taught me how to sew my own clothing; my mom taught me how to fish. Maybe that’s why I always look beyond the stereotypes, as well as put a lot of emphasis on raising my own kids to be self-reliant.
However, the only type of fishing that I’m any good at is trout fishing, since that’s what I learned in the lakes and streams of Pennsylvania. Lucky for me, there is trout fishing in Arlington, Virginia. The season has officially begun. Grab your pole and go get some dinner (ok, or maybe throw that poor fish back in).
Four Mile Run is stocked with trout every spring, and yes, people do catch fish. I’ll vouch for it – I’ve seen people fishing right off Bluemont Park, a wonderful Arlington neighborhood that I’ve written about before.
Trout fishing in Arlington – Sound like fun? A Virginia State Fishing License is required. Meet you there!
